Description

INTRODUCTION

Welcome to the bridal henna course, this is a bridal beginners guide which carries on from the foundation training course. The bridal course constitutes of three main basic bridal patterns, I have tried to keep these simple for individuals as you are new to henna designs. I have included tutorial videos on the bridal patterns, the videos breakdown the pattern and give step by step instructions. The patterns include common and repetitive motifs in bridal henna and it will really help to master and practice these to improve your designs. You will need to print the templates which includes a total of seven pages, each template has a video tutorial to help guide you. For each video there is an informative learning section giving you tips on the designs and practical bullet points which will give you guidance on the practical.

  4. Lemon juice sealant in a spray bottle.
  5. Tissue paper/baby wipes.
  6. Scissors – to cut the henna cone if the tip is too fine.

TEMPLATE ONE – CURVED LINES

Thick and fine lines are common and repetitive motifs in bridal designs, occasionally I border a thick line with a thin line on both sides (underneath and over). The thin line bordering the thick line gives it a nice finish and contrast. Sometimes the thin lines can be decorated with small curls and twirls to make it look complete.

TIPS

  • Start off by creating the thick line first and then border it with a thin line above and below.
  • When you draw the thick line, you may start with a faint sketch of the line and then go over it to thicken it.
  • When doing a curved thick line try and create a sharp join to create a thick and fine contrast.
  • The lines can be completed by adding small curls only or small curls with twirls.
  • Thick and thin lines can be added anywhere throughout the bridal design (fingers, hands and arms).

PRACTICAL

  • In the first box/row faintly start by going over the thick line, although it has already been drawn try and sketch a faint line first and then thicken it.
  • Border the thick line with a thin line.
  • Add small curls on the thin line.
  • Follow the tutorial video.
  • In the empty rows below practice to do these lines independently.
